Prague, 15.04.2016 Share 2016. April 23. Central European organizations held a conference with the title “New Tools for Presentation of the GULAG History” in Prague. The Committee of National Remembrance was represented by Vice-Chair Áron Máthé. The events were hosted by The Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (USTR). Participants of the project were Gulag.cz Association, the Polish Osrodek Pamieci Sybiracy (Foundation for the Memory of Siberian Prisoners), Education Office of the Polish Institute for National Remembrance, the Slovakian Post Bellum.sk and National Circle of the Germans of Hungary from Pécs-Baranya. During the workshop Stepan Carnousek presented their interactive map of the GULAG camps, whose texts with Hungarian relevance were written by Áron Máthé. The Chairperson of Gulag.cz introduced their initiation called “Archipelag – Central European Map of the Gulag”. The Vice Chair of NEB presented a similar, 3D application of the Committee about the prison camp of Cegléd. The Committee of National Remembrance is an official partner to the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes and Institute for National Remembrance.
